Feb 07, 2014
The host Lady Scots missed a shot at the buzzer in falling to the Lady Rams in Section 1-A action.
Union (2-10, 3-17) made a 3-pointer with 5.6 seconds left to narrow the deficit to a point. But Rochester (4-8, 5-15) threw the ball away in an attempt to make a fullcourt pass. The ball went out of bounds, giving Union one final chance to win the game. The Lady Scots took possession, but missed a potential game-winning field goal as the final horn sounded.
“It was a really good game,” said first-year Union coach Larry Ondako. “It would have been a good win for the girls.
“We improved over the last two weeks. It’s a shame it didn’t get capped off with a win. But it just didn’t work out.”
Tyanna Harris paced the Lady Scots with 13 points and Skylar Thompson tallied 12. Christina Noble notched 10.
Payton Tomasko registered a team-high 12 points for the Lady Rams.
