The host Wolverines led for big chunks of the first three quarters, but couldn’t make the lead hold up in the Section 2-AAA loss.
Ellwood City (1-11, 4-17) led 14-11 after one quarter and took a 35-32 lead into the final period before being outscored, 21-11.
Matt Morabito topped the Wolverines with 14 points, while Tanner Walsh was next with 11.
Darius Wise recorded 19 points for the Bobcats.
