Mohawk girls fall
Ambridge (40) Vs. Mohawk (28)
Feb 05, 2014
The Lady Bridgers built a 22-6 halftime advantage and made it stand in a nonsection home win over the Lady Warriors.

Mohawk (14-5) rallied in the second half, outscoring Ambridge, 22-18.

“I thought we played hard all night,” Lady Warriors coach Mike O’Lare said. “Defensively, we played hard and pretty well. Offensively, it was just a complete mess in the first half.

“Erin Giancola did a great job for us. I was really proud of the way our kids battled. We just kept plugging away. I know it’s a loss, but I was really proud of the kids. I wasn’t disappointed in our kids at all.”

Samantha Carr tossed in a team-high 18 points for the Lady Warriors, while Ashley McConnell led the way for the visitors with 10 rebounds.

Kelly Haslett posted 17 points for the Class AAA Lady Bridgers (11-8).
