Jan 10, 2008
The Mustangs jumped on the Greyhounds with a 20-14 lead in the first quarter and rolled to a District 10, Region 2-AA win.
“We didn’t come to play in the first quarter,” Wilmington coach Will Harris said. “Offensively, we missed a ton of layups. You’re not going to win tough league games missing layups, and they were uncontested layups we were missing.”
Tommy Meyers led the ‘Hounds (3-5, 6-7) with 14 points. Chris Burns followed with 13 and Shane Wagner chipped in with 10 markers.
“We’re just playing inconsistent right now,” Harris said. “We have to come ready to play and we’re not doing that right now.”
Dustin Snyder paced Mercer (5-3, 10-4) with a game-best 21 points.
