Lady Lancers in laugher
Neshannock (71) Vs. Beaver Falls (16)
Jan 10, 2014
The Lady Lancers shared the wealth in the Section 2-AA home win.

Neshannock (5-0, 13-0) handed out a season-high 30 assists on 32 field goals, while recording a season-low four turnovers. The Lady Lancers’ five starters accounted for 24 of the assists.

“We really passed the ball well tonight,” Neshannock coach Luann Grybowski said. “I just love seeing that. I’d rather see a great pass to an open player than a score.”

Beaver Falls (1-4, 1-10) tried to take the air out of the ball early in the game, holding the ball for nearly three minutes after Neshannock’s initial possession.

The Lady Lancers were still able to race out to a 20-4 lead after the first quarter and a 42-8 lead at halftime. The mercy rule was started in the third quarter when Neshannock outscored the Lady Tigers 23-0.

“The first three minutes of the game, they tried to run time off the clock,” Grybowski said. “We pressured them more and got some easy baskets. A lot of our baskets were layups. I think we had a couple two-foot jumpers and the five 3-pointers, but other than that, they were all layups.”

Madison McHale posted a game-high 22 points to go along with five assists and four steals, while Tayler Grybowski recorded 14 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals. Cassidy Burrelli notched 10 points.

Erin Warvell tallied nine points, six assists and four steals. Regan Moorhouse chipped in five rebounds, five steals and four assists.
