Western Beaver too much for Mohawk
Mohawk (51) Vs. Western Beaver (71)
Dec 28, 2013
Mohawk was unable to dig out of an early hole and eventually dropped a 71-51 decision to Western Beaver last night in the Mohawk Holiday Classic.

Mohawk (4-4) fell behind 23-8 after one quarter and 37-23 at the half. Mohawk did manage to cut the deficit to single digits in the third quarter, but could get no closer.

“They jumped out on us early and it took us a little while to battle back,” Warriors coach Rob Fadden said. “It seemed like every time we made a run, we didn’t get a good defensive rebound or turned the ball over or didn’t get a shot.”

Gino Menichono paced Mohawk with 14 points.

Mohawk plays McGuffey at 6 p.m. today. Western Beaver takes on Mohawk at 4:30 p.m.
