The Lady Greyhounds outscored the Lady Wildcats 17-9 to take control and claim a nonconference home win.
Wilmington built a 33-20 lead at the break with the second-quarter outburst. It was the third game of the week for the Lady Greyhounds.
“It’s another nice win for the girls,” Wilmington coach Brandy Sanford said. “The girls are in it to win it this year, that’s for sure.
“I’m pleased with how they keep coming out and how they’re ready to go.”
The Lady Greyhounds (6-1) have dealt Shenango (5-2) both of its setbacks this season.
“Wilmington is a good team,” Lady Wildcats coach Brian Turk said. “We can’t get into these track meets. I thought we knew what we needed to do.
“They’re 6-1 for a reason.”
Alanna Elliott led a balanced attack for the Lady Greyhounds with 18 points, while Hannah Drake chipped in with 15, 10 coming in the second quarter. Tessa Sikora was next with 14 markers and a game-best 19 rebounds. Dakota Naples notched 12 points.
Cassidy Marett handed out a game-high six assists to go along with her six markers.
Samantha Seaburn led all scorers with 23 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks for Shenango. She netted eight points in the second quarter and eight more in the third.
Seaburn was coming off a 34-point, 19-rebound performance Wednesday in a 67-57 win over Freedom.
“She’s played outstanding in two straight games,” Turk said.
Carolyn Peterson provided 13 markers for the visitors and Angelina Sibeto was next with 11.
Shenango turned the ball over just 12 times and outrebounded Wilmington, 35-28.
