Frederick Roth poured in 26 points, including seven 3-pointers, in Ellwood City’s 75-63 WPIAL Section 2-AAA homecourt loss to West Allegheny last night.

Ellwood City fell to 0-3 in the section, 1-7 overall, while West Allegheny is now 2-1 and 5-1.

Nick Ioanilli added nine points and eight rebounds for the Wolverines.

Ellwood led 17-15 after one quarter and trailed just 39-33 at the half, but the Wolverines did not score for the first three minutes after intermission and were outscored 21-7 in the frame. Ellwood mounted a bit of a rally in the final stanza, but could get no closer than the final score.
