Dec 20, 2013
Karington Ketterer collected a game-high 22 points to lead the Lady Wolverines to a Section 2-AAA home win over West Allegheny.
Ketterer added five rebounds and three steals as well for Ellwood (1-2, 3-3).
The Lady Wolverines raced out to a 14-5 lead and never looked back.
“I told the girls at the beginning of the game that the first quarter would set the tone for the entire game and it did,” said first-year Ellwood coach Dena Noble. “We jumped on them quick, forcing turnovers with our press and coming up with transition points.
“We made some minor mistakes when the game was close but were able to overcome it. I am so proud of Karington Ketterer for stepping up and playing to her capability. This was a great team win.”
Katelyn Wardman added eight points and a team-best seven rebounds for the victors.
Lexi Lynn led the Lady Indians (1-2, 3-3) with 13 points.
