The offense came together in the second quarter for the Lady Warriors in an easy Section 2-AA home win over Beaver Falls.
Mohawk (1-1, 4-1) led just 9-4 after one quarter before pushing it to 23-15 at the break.
“We struggled out of the gate offensively,” Lady Warriors coach Mike O’Lare said. “We sustained our defense and to the kids’ credit, we played pretty solid defensively.
“We picked it up offensivey, too. If we can continue to guard, we’ll be fine.”
Melissa Verlotte netted a game-high 18 points for Mohawk, while Samantha Carr and Aliya Gage collected 12 apiece.
Kashuis Harris recorded nine points for the Lady Tigers (0-2, 0-5).
