The Lady Vikings raced out to a 16-2 lead and cruised to a Section 2-AAA home win over Ellwood City.

The Lady Wolverines (0-2, 2-3) turned the ball over 26 times in the defeat.

“Until our girls can do things fundamentally right, we aren’t going to win ballgames,” said first-year Ellwood City coach Dena Noble.

Bailey McKinney notched nine points and four rebounds for the Lady Wolverines, while Karington Ketterer collected seven markers and a team-high seven rebounds.

Shaniya Rivers registered a game-best 15 points for Hopewell (2-0, 5-0).
