Union runs into ‘buzz saw’
Summit Academy (85) Vs. Union (50)
Dec 12, 2013
The Scotties had no answer for Summit Academy’s speed and athleticism.

The Knights grabbed a 23-13 lead after the first quarter and increased it to 42-18 at the half.

“They were trapping and their recovery time was really good,” Union coach Dave Smialowski said. “They’re very athletic and really quick. I don’t know if we’ll face anyone that quick the rest of the year. They’re a solid team.”

Jullian Johnson led Union (0-4) with a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double, while Benjamin Young posted a team-high 19 points.

“We ran into a buzz saw,” Smialowski said. “We haven’t played against a team with that kind of speed and it shocked our kids a little bit. They’re still working and trying to improve.”
