Emma Rich, Angelina Sibeto and Carolyn Peterson posted double figures as the Lady Wildcats rolled to the nonsection win.

Rich scored 14 points, Sibeto added 13 tallies and Peterson posted 11 markers for Shenango (2-1). Samantha Seaburn finished with seven points and 15 rebounds.

“It’s something that we mentioned at the beginning of the year,” Lady Wildcats coach Brian Turk said of the balanced scoring. “Anyone can step up on any given night. It’s nice to see, because other teams can’t focus on any one player. We’ve been focusing on being a balanced team.”

Shenango is riding a wave of confidence and is looking to end a 44-game Section 2-AA losing streak on Thursday when it hosts New Brighton.

“We’re very excited about getting off to a good start,” Turk said. “This is a big confidence booster for the girls. With the experience we had coming back, I thought we could (get off to a good start). We had a hiccup against Wilmington with (Tessa) Sikora, (Cassidy) Marett and (Alanna) Elliott, but we overcame it.”
