Greyhounds fall to Oil City
Oil City (76) Vs. Wilmington (58)
Dec 09, 2013
The Oilers pulled away in the second half to claim the championship at the Fort LeBoeuf Tipoff Tournament.

The Greyhounds (1-1) had a 14-13 lead after the first and went up 35-29 at halftime. However, Oil City (2-0) outscored Wilmington, 22-9, in the third to take control.

Jesse Hilliard led the Greyhounds with 14 points. He added six rebounds. Jordan Smith added 13 points and seven rebounds. Rocco Fagan had nine points and six assists. Smith and Fagan were named to the all-tournament team.

“We came out really strong. We took a six-point lead at halftime,” Wilmington coach Mike Jeckavitch said. “We dealt with foul trouble the entire game. Jordan sat most of the second quarter with foul trouble and picked up his fourth really early in the second half. That really hamstrung us.

“Oil City is a good team; they took away our transition game. We didn’t match their physicality well,” he continued. “I thought we played decently well, but did not have enough firepower at the end.”
