Carlynton raced to a 24-4 lead and cruised to a 60-21 win over Ellwood City in the South Side Beaver Tournament.

Karington Ketterer paced the Lady Wolverines (0-1) with seven points and three rebounds. Bailey McKinney was next with six markers, while sharing team-high honors with four rebounds. Allesandra McKelvey also pulled down four boards.

Ellwood City turned the ball over 35 times.

“Our lack of varsity experience really hurt us against Carlynton,” first-year Lady Wolverines coach Dena Noble said. “We made very rookie mistakes.

“We made improvements in the second half, but when you get into a hole that deep, it’s very difficult to dig yourself out. We’re hoping to get that momentum we had in the fourth quarter into (today’s) consolation game.”

Conor Richardson tossed in a game-best 23 points for the Lady Cougars (1-0).
