Riverside girls rout Union
Riverside (78) Vs. Union (24)
Feb 12, 2013
Union was no match for the Lady Panthers in a nonsection road loss.
The Lady Scots struggled to find offensive momentum early, falling behind 15-5 after the first quarter.
“They shot the ball really well,” Union coach Brian Fadden said. “They took advantage of their opportunities.”
Riverside (14-8) was led by Nicole Mansfield’s 21 points. Alexis Deep was next with 19, including 6 of 6 from the free-throw line.
The Lady Scots (11-10) were limited to four second-half points. Union closed out its season by losing six of seven games, but will be making its first playoff appearance during Fadden’s four-year regime.
“We can be seeded anywhere,” he said. “I think we’re going to be one of the lower seeds. I don’t know for certain. We’re anxious to see where they put us.”
Fadden will be joining his brother, Rob Fadden, head coach for the playoff-bound Mohawk boys team, at today’s pairings announcement.
“It will be pretty exciting. This is the first time we’ll both be there as head coaches. I’m glad for his success and for mine.”
