Turnovers proved costly for Neshannock in a Section 2-AA home loss to Beaver Falls.

The Lady Lancers (5-6, 9-10) turned the ball over 31 times. The Lady Tigers (10-2, 12-8) turned 14 of those turnovers into layups.

“They got 28 points right there directly off our turnovers,” Neshannock coach Luann Grybowski said. “We have to take care of the ball.

“Once they scored in transition, then they set up their press against us.”

Neshannock trailed 39-18 at the break, but played even with Beaver Falls in the second half.

“The only good thing was we played them even in the second half,” Grybowski said. “The kids didn’t quit.

“They could have folded, but they didn’t.”

Alexandra Fischer and Madison McHale netted 13 points each for Neshannock. McHale handed out three assists as well along with Erin Warvell.

Tayler Grybowski pulled down eight rebounds for the Lady Lancers to go with her five markers.

Neshannock was 12 of 44 from the field.

“Beaver Falls is a pretty good team,” Luann Grybowski said. “We did some pretty good things, despite the score and turnovers.”
