Ellwood hangs tough in loss to Central Valley
Ellwood City (44) Vs. Central Valley (61)
Feb 02, 2013
Ellwood City turned the ball over 22 times in a 61-44 Section 2-AAA home loss to Central Valley.

Ellwood City Lincoln (0-10, 3-17) trailed just 34-27 at the half. The Warriors (8-2, 14-6) outscored the Wolverines 17-7 in the third quarter to take control.

“We hung in there in the first half,” first-year Ellwood City coach Anthony Ovial said. “We played them tough in the first half. A bucket here and a bucket there that we get to go down, it’s even closer.

“Those turnovers took away those opportunities to get those buckets, though.”

Mario Greco paced the Wolverines with a game-high 15 points and Nick Aloi was next with 12.

Brian Kolich tallied 11 points for the Warriors.
