The Lady Wolverines’ Section 2-AAA loss against visiting Central Valley didn’t temper Jolene Servick’s spirits.
“I am so proud of my girls,” the Ellwood City Lincoln coach said. “They played hard for four quarters and never quit. We did an excellent job in the first half with their 2-3 zone.”
The Lady Wolverines (2-9, 7-13) were up by three heading into halftime, an improvement over the 41-16 deficit the team had at Central Valley earlier in the season.
“My seniors played their best game. They finished their final home game with one of their best performances,” Servick said.
The Lady Warriors (8-2, 16-2) exploded for 18 points in the third quarter. Madi Rowan had a game-high 27 points. Kiana Law was next with 22.
“They had a quick run at the beginning of the third quarter and we got outscored,” Servick said. “We were unable to keep Rowan in check, and Law killed us from the foul line.”
Ellwood City’s Asia Borders bucketed 15 points. Kara Sainato was next with nine points, including three 3-pointers. She leads the team with 21 3-pointers on the season.
