Ambridge girls trap Ellwood
Ambridge (60) Vs. Ellwood City (28)
Jan 29, 2013
Ellwood City Lincoln couldn’t handle the defensive pressure of Ambridge in a Section 2-AAA battle.
“They use a 3-2 extended zone that extended out to half court,” Lady Wolverines coach Jolene Servick said. “We either threw the ball away or dribbled into their trap and lost it.”
Ellwood City (2-8, 9-11) turned the ball over 41 times and was limited to 14 first-half points.
“We rebounded better in the second half, but could not overcome the first-half deficit,” Servick said.
Angela McCowin finished with six points to lead the visiting Lady Wolverines. She also pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds.
Lexi Hilzendeger led the Lady Bridgers (6-3, 12-5) with 16 markers.
