Riverside tops Shenango
Riverside (59) Vs. Shenango (30)
Jan 22, 2013
A slow start created a hole that Shenango couldn’t dig out of in Section 2-AA action on the road.

The Lady Wildcats (0-8, 6-10) were held to 11 points in the first half in their seventh-straight loss.

“We just didn’t get anything going from the get-go,” Shenango coach Brian Turk said. “Early turnovers turned into points for Riverside early.”

The Lady Wildcats committed 12 of their 19 turnovers in the first half. Riverside’s Alexis Deep benefited from Shenango’s mistakes by scoring 11 of her 18 points in the second period.

“They just played some man-to-man and we couldn’t handle the pressure,” Turk said. “Deep is a very good player. She lit us up in the second quarter, and it opened up after that.”

Samantha Seaburn paced Shenango with 16 points with 10 of 16 shooting from the free-throw line.
