Turnovers hurt Ellwood girls
Central Valley (69) Vs. Ellwood City (30)
Jan 08, 2013
The Lady Wolverines couldn’t keep pace with Central Valley in a Section 2-AAA road loss.

Ellwood City was down just 19-10 after one quarter but the Lady Warriors pushed the lead to 41-16 at the break.

The Lady Wolverines (1-4, 5-6) turned the ball over 31 times.

“Once again, we are committing too many unforced turnovers and when we force them into some it does not result in points on our end,” Ellwood City coach Jolene Servick said. “We are struggling with basic fundamentals. Passing, dribbling and defense.”

Asia Borders led the Lady Wolverines with 11 points and six rebounds.

Madi Rowan poured in a game-high 28 points for Central Valley (4-0, 9-0), which is ranked No. 4 in the WPIAL in Class AAA by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
