Shenango falls to Riverside
Shenango (46) Vs. Riverside (63)
Jan 05, 2013
Shenango fell behind 36-18 at the half and couldn’t recover in a 63-46 Section 2-AA road loss to Riverside.

“I didn’t think we came out ready to play,” Shenango coach Bob McQuiston said. “It didn’t seem like the intensity was there from the start.

“Riverside is tough on their own court. We came out with some intensity in the second half. It was just too big of a hole to dig yourself out of. I thought the effort was there in the second half and the guys are playing hard.”

Brenton Booher netted a team-high 21 points for the Wildcats (0-4, 2-7) and Greg DePorzio added 15.

Gig Jewell tossed in a game-best 23 markers for the Panthers (1-3, 5-6).

“There were just too many mental mistakes in the first half,” McQuiston said. “We’re close, we’re right there. If we can just put four quarters together, we’ll get the win. I’m proud of the effort.”
