Ellwood girls victorious
Ellwood City (45) Vs. Saegertown (32)
Dec 17, 2012
The Lady Wolverines raced to a 20-8 first-quarter lead and made it stand in a nonsection home win over Saegertown.
“We came away with the win, but we need to do a lot better at putting four strong quarters together,” Ellwood City Lincoln coach Jolene Servick said. “We had a great start but we began to make a lot of mental errors at the end. We won’t be able to do that in our section and still walk away with a win.”
Asia Borders paced the Lady Wolverines (4-1) with 17 points. She added eight rebounds, three steals and three assists as well. Angela McCowin was next with 15 markers and a team-high 11 rebounds. McCowin chipped in with five steals and four blocks.
