Our Lady of Sacred Heart came out firing in a nonsection matchup at Laurel.
The Chargers took a 17-4 first-quarter lead to bury any hopes of a Laurel upset. The Spartans did cut the lead to 10 later in the game, but the deficit was too big to overcome.
“They came out and played well, but we shot very poorly,” Laurel coach Mike Tinstman said. “We missed some easy buckets early on, and you can’t get down 17-4 and expect to come back against a team like that.”
Andre Orie of OLSH (13-2) led all scorers with 21, while Josh Dando paced the Spartans (1-15) with 12. Conor Melichar snared a team-best eight rebounds for Laurel.
