Blackhawk built a 23-10 lead and cruised to a Section 2-AAA road win over Ellwood City Lincoln.

The Lady Cougars, ranked No. 3 in the WPIAL in Class AAA by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, built a 41-12 halftime advantage. Blackhawk is ranked No. 7 in the state in Class AAA by the Patriot-News of Harrisburg.

“Blackhawk is a very good team,” first-year Lady Wolverines coach Jolene Servick said. “They impress me the most of the teams in our section.

“They have a real strong bench. You have to be ready to play against them and we weren’t ready.”

Asia Borders netted 10 points for Ellwood City (0-8, 5-11).

Bridgette Shaffer led all scorers with 16 markers for the Lady Cougars (7-1, 14-1).
