Summit Academy pulls away from Ellwood
Ellwood City (42) Vs. Summit Academy (53)
Jan 14, 2012
Summit Academy outscored Ellwood City, 26-16, in the second half to pull away for a 53-42 Section 2-AA road victory last night.

The win ended the Wolverines’ four-game winning streak. The Knights (6-0, 9-3) are ranked No. 5 in the WPIAL in Class AA by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

“It was a combination of their defense and our lousy offensive execution,” Wolverines coach Al Campman said. “We had eight empty possessions. When you have that many, they’ll make a run on you.

“The rest of the game was all even.”

Matt Germanoski led Ellwood with 14 points and Mario Greco was next with 10.

“You don’t get anything inside against them,” Campman said. “You better hit shots from the outside.

“I give them credit. They’re long and they make it hard on you.”

Rakim Reedy paced all scorers with a game-high 17 markers for the Knights (6-0, 9-3), winners of seven straight.
