Ellwood girls stop Shenango
Ellwood City (40) Vs. Shenango (23)
Jan 12, 2012
Asia Borders scored seven of her 13 points in the first quarter to put the Lady Wolverines on the way to a nonleague victory at home.

Borders also came up with four steals and Angela McCowin added eight points and nine rebounds for Ellwood (4-8 overall), which raced out to a 15-2 lead after the first quarter.

“We needed this one considering we’ve been playing all these tough section (2-AAA) games,” Lady Wolverines coach Jolene Servick said. “I stressed yesterday that this is how we had to come out and I’m glad they responded.

“I’ve been stressing that we need to be consistent,” she added. “We’ve had too many ups and downs.”

Justine Razo scored eight points for the Lady Wildcats (1-12).
