Summit Academy (85) Vs. Laurel (58)
Jan 11, 2012
Laurel hung around with the top team in Section 2-AA, but Summit Academy pulled away in the fourth quarter to top the Spartans at home.
Rakim Reedy hit seven 3-pointers and scored a game-high 27 points. Elijah Minnie added 21 for the Knights (4-0, 7-3).
“They were one of the biggest teams I’ve seen in a while,” Laurel coach Mike Tinstman said. “And they have a very quick point guard. They’re just an outstanding team.”
The Spartans (0-4, 1-0) stayed close thanks to big nights by Richard Jones (19 points) and Todd Fennick (15). Summit Academy led by 14 after three quarters and cruised to the win by outscoring Laurel, 25-13, in the fourth period.
