Lady Scots roll past Cornell
Union (52) Vs. Cornell (32)
Dec 16, 2011
It’s been a fast start to the season for Union, and it was a good beginning last night for the Lady Scots in a Section 1-A contest.

Union (1-0, 3-1) scored the first eight points and never trailed in its section opener. Three different players reached double figures and five players scored at least five points in the win.

“We’ve been spreading the ball around, and people are willing to step up and take shots when they’re open,” Lady Scots coach Brian Fadden said. “We got off to fast start, and we played four solid quarters of basketball tonight. We jumped on them 8-0 and we never really looked back from there.”

Marissa Heaney contributed a game-high 17 points, while her sister Miranda Heaney netted 13. Savannah Partridge scored nine points and snared a team-best 13 rebounds, while Miranda Heaney added six assists.
