Lancers fall to Quaker Valley
Quaker Valley (73) Vs. Neshannock (62)
Dec 14, 2011
One miserable quarter doomed Neshannock in a nonsection clash with Quaker Valley.

The Lancers (1-2) shot 1 of 13 in the second quarter and was outscored 14-3 by the Quakers (3-0). Outside of that quarter, Neshannock played well, making 55 percent of its shots.

“They’re a very good team, and that’s why we wanted to have them on the schedule,” Lancers coach John Corey said. “I told the guys after the game that we really played well. It was just that one quarter of awful shooting. Every other quarter was pretty good for playing against a team of that caliber. They have a lot of seniors, and they’re very good at pressuring you defensively.”

John Sansone led Neshannock with 20 points and five rebounds. He also handed out three assists. Ernie Burkes added 15 points and a team-high six assists, while Joe Iorio scored 16.

Quaker Valley’s Sam Peduto paced all scorers with 22.
