Heaney leads Union girls to win
Union (54) Vs. Freedom (37)
Dec 13, 2011
Marissa Heaney netted nine of her game-high 18 points in the first quarter for Union in a nonsection win over Freedom.

The Lady Scots led 20-13 after one quarter and 26-25 at the break.

“We got off to a quick start,” Union coach Brian Fadden said. “Freedom shot really well in the first half. That’s how they stayed in it.

“They banked in some shots in the second quarter and we were missing some looks.”

The Lady Scots (2-1) regrouped in the second half to pull away for the victory.

Savannah Partridge followed Heaney’s effort with 10 markers for Union.

JoAnne Dailamas paced the Lady Bulldogs with 14 markers.
