Chris Koryak’s 17 points guided the Royals to the win over the Spartans at the Ellwood City Tipoff Tournament.

Vincentian (2-0) grabbed a 16-9 lead after the first and held a 39-27 halftime edge. The Royals built the advantage to 67-43 after three quarters.

Ryan Hites and Todd Fennick both led Laurel (0-2) with 10 points. Josh Dando had nine points, while Conor Melichar had six points and six rebounds. Brad Telesz had five points and six rebounds.

“We came out and played a little better,” Laurel coach Mike Tinstman said. “We were in foul trouble early. We had four of our guys foul out. We just couldn’t recover from it.”
