Shenango (52) Vs. Union (39)
Dec 12, 2011
The Wildcats’ second-half rally lifted them to the decision over the Scotties in the consolation game at the Neshannock Tipoff Tournament.

Shenango (1-1) had a 14-11 lead after the first, but Union (0-2) came back to knot the game at 22 at halftime. The ’Cats posted a 37-32 advantage after the third and held on for the win.

Brett Chieze, an all-tournament team selection, had 16 points and five assists for Shenango. Jeff Williams and Greg DePorzio both had six points.

“I thought we played hard Friday, but made some mistakes. Saturday, we came out and made few a mistakes, but really turned things around,” Shenango coach Bob McQuiston said. “We went on about a six-minute stretch in the fourth quarter where we played good defense and our offense looked good. Our guys really stepped up and made plays when we needed them. It was nice to bounce back from a loss Friday night.”
