Rob Fadden had a tough debut last night as Mohawk High boys basketball coach.

Fadden’s Warriors suffered a 48-30 loss to Beaver in the opening round of the Riverside Shootout.

Despite the loss, Fadden said he was not disheartened in the least by the defeat.

“The final score is a little misleading,” he said. “It was 33-27 with 7:20 left, so we were extremely competitive for three quarters. We definitely came out of this game with a lot more positives than negatives.”

Lucas Grim led Mohawk with 13 points.

The Warriors take on Freedom at 4 p.m. today in the consolation game.
