'Canes crush Sewickley Academy

Corey Eggleston finished the season with another great all-around performance as the Red Hurricane cruised past Sewickley Academy in a nonsection matchup.

Eggleston recorded team-highs in points (20), rebounds (6), steals (7) and also added four assists. He dropped 18 of his points and four 3s in the first half, when New Castle (16-6) took a 42-23 lead.

Antonio Rudolph and Malik Hooker provided 11 each for the ’Canes, who will find out their first-round opponent in the WPIAL playoffs today. Rudolph also provided four assists, and Hooker dished out a team-best five assists. New Castle shot 9 of 21 from 3-point land.

Barret Fowkes and Kenny Johnson registered 10 points apiece for Sewickley Academy (9-11).
