Shenango defeats Mohawk
Shenango (55) Vs. Mohawk (37)
Feb 12, 2011
Senior night meant one thing for Shenango: Win for Brock.

Brock Blakely, that is. The only senior on the Wildcats’ roster got his wish.

Shenango (5-7, 12-9) took over in the fourth quarter to beat Mohawk 55-37 in a Section 2-AA matchup. Mike Linz scored 16 of his 22 in the second half and eight in the final frame to spark the Wildcats, who were up three entering the fourth.

“It was senior night, and I know the guys wanted to get Brock a win,” Shenango coach Bob McQuiston said. “We played well right away, and I knew Mohawk wasn’t going to lay down.

“They battled back into it. But (Linz) did a good job of posting guys up. The guys recognized he had the hot hand and kept feeding him the ball.”

Brett Chieze recorded a double-double for Shenango with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Tynen Greer dished out a team-best five assists. Blakely notched eight points.

Tim Glass netted 19 for Mohawk (1-11, 4-16).
