A new rivalry is in the works. The booster groups for the Wilmington and Neshannock high boys and girls basketball programs will sponsor the first “Battle of the Borders” on Wednesday night at Westminster College. The Wilmington and Neshannock girls will play at 6 p.m. and the boys game will follow at 7:30 p.m. “We want to turn this into a rivalry,” Wilmington girls coach Brian Turk said. “We have trophies for each game and the winner will take it with them and then we’ll play for that trophy again next year and hopefully it starts a new tradition.”
