Union girls basketball team picks up first win
Union (40) Vs. Propel Andrew Street (8)
The Union High girls basketball team reached the win column Monday night.
Freshman center Madison Wynn tied a career high with 18 points to lead the Lady Scots to a 40-8 WPIAL Section 1-1A road win over Propel Andrew Street.
The win snaps Union's 18-game losing streak dating back to a 23-21 home win over Portersville Christian on Jan. 20, 2016.
"It's nice for the girls to get their first win," said first-year Lady Scots coach Brian Heaney. "They've been working hard and I'm happy they got a win."
Olivia Medure followed with six points for the Lady Scots (1-4 section, 1-11 overall).
Propel Andrew Street (0-5, 0-13) had just five players available for the contest.
