Kish leads Wilmington to win

Stephanie Kish came through in the fourth quarter for the Wilmington High girls basketball team last night.
Kish was 10 of 12 from the foul line in the pivotal final frame to propel the Lady Greyhounds to a 59-47 verdict over Mercer in a District 10, Region 2-AA contest.
Kish also tallied a career-best 22 markers.
“I thought Kish played outstanding,” Wilmington coach Brian Turk said. “She really stepped up at the foul line in the last quarter, too.”
Haley Marett contributed 17 points for Wilmington (2-9 region, 8-13 overall), while Ashley Gardner added 11 markers and seven rebounds.
Leah Day pulled down a game-best 11 rebounds for the winners.
The Lady Greyhounds were 23 of 29 from the foul line, including 16 of 19 in the final stanza to sew up the win. Wilmington outscored the Lady Mustangs 26-13 in the fourth period.
“Our guards played outstanding and we were able to shut Mercer down in the fourth quarter,” Turk said.
Alexa Rymnak paced Mercer (5-6, 12-9) with 13 points.
